CONNECTING CITIES @ OCT-LOFT CREATIVE FESTIVAL 2013 IN SHENZHEN / CHINA

Public Art Lab presents the Connecting Cities Network, its projects and partners at the OCT-LOFT Creative Festival 2013 in Shenzhen, China. The focus lies on the philosophy, practice and evolution of Public Art Lab and leads the visitor through its main milestones: Starting with nomadic projects such as “Mobile Museum” and “Mobile Studios”, it takes a leap to the media facade projects from the “Media facade festival” to the most recent project “Connecting Cities”. PAL is proud to introduce its showcase project the SMSlingshot by VR/Urban.

CONNECTING CITIES @ ARTE CREATIVE #1

In the first episode of our Connecting Cities’ web series presented on ARTE Creative, we take a close look at TransEuropeSlow by Sergio Galán.
The interactive installation with a pedal interface proposes new ways of exploring a city. The bike itself is seen not merely as means of transportation but as a tool that offers novel perspectives on the urban landscape. The installation allows the audience to experience a virtual bike ride through a screen, captured with the eyes of a camera-equipped urban cyclist.
